Exhibition at the Maison du Brasseur in Lachine

April 13th to the 15th our group had an exhibition and although I didn't sell any paintings it was a great weekend. I got to learn a little about Nathalie's process on collagraph printing. This is the print that she sold. She explained the process in detail and showed us some of her other works which were just as wonderful. Here are some of the pictures of Joan's watercolour's. I just love the little mushroom painting and the way it was framed. Here are mine, which are done with inks, acrylics and coated with triple glaze  Of course as usual, I didn't take a photo of the second one. I will have the photo taken and up load it up shortly.....one of my biggest issues to date

Hubby was in Calgary and Banff

Here are some of the shots taken on my hubby's cell phone while on business in Calgary and also in Banff

House Concert in Russell Ontario with Gordie Tentrees and Sarah MacDougall

Our friends Kitty and Dan hosted their second house concert in Russell Ontario on Sunday with musicians Gordie Tentrees and  Sarah MacDougall. Having the artists up and personal playing for you while surrounded by your family and friends is so much fun.  The concert usually last about 2 hours, the admission fees vary from $15.00 and up per person. The hosts and friends bring food for intermission and of course BYOB. You get a chance to chat with the artists about how they travel, where they are from, and what they are doing with their music currently. It's a great way to catch up with friends that you don't always get to see during the year and just chatting with the artist's is amazing.  So if you hear of a house concert, try to get to one and see for yourself how much fun it is. I will try to see if I can get some of their photos to post at a later time.

Flowers for our 30th wedding anniversary

My kids bought us a wonderfully unusual bonquet of flowers for our 30th wedding anniversary. I am going to have to look up these flowers as I have never seen them before.

Gee I didn't realize it was Friday the 13th until

I got to the opening of the art group which I belong to exhibition's tonight and saw that once again my paintings were at the very back of the hall almost in the dark. I actually started joking about it saying that I was sent into the dungeon because I was late on my submission of my paintings. Oh well, I got through the day without knowing it and it's really all about exposure anyhow. I was surprised to see a good friend who I hadn't seen in years and within seconds it seemed that we had just seen each other yesterday.....I love that. So I made it through the day that my mother dreaded being superstitious that she was.....or maybe I should knock on wood now because the day is not over yet.
