#randomthingsicollect Ken Doll 1961

I have been on the hunt for 1959 Barbie doll as that was the year I was born by my great Aunt Ruth that bought it for me. I managed to keep it in pristine condition even though I had ripped all the heads and cut off the hair on my cousins dolls. Great Aunt Ruth took me to a toy store on Sherbrooke Street in Montreal and bought the brunette for me instead of the blonde. I had the doll, her outfit in the original box till my eldest was 2 1/2. I gave it to her thinking she was mature enough to take care of it. Within the hour I came in her room to see she had cut the hair, removed the head and destroyed the box. Holy shit is this history repeating itself ? And now 37 years later I am on the hunt for it.

Last week I was bidding for this very doll that slipped out of my hands to someone who outbid me for $1.00. Talk about bad luck. But the up side is that I won the Ken doll on another bid.

So here he is the Vintage 1961, Flocked Blonde Hair Ken doll. #750 Ken. Ken™, Pats. Pend.,(The blonde's hair has rubbed off except around the edges) ,©MCMLX by Mattel Inc Straight leg, Japan Foot. Barbie's Boyfriend. All that is missing now is the original box, the Cork Sandals and Shirt and yellow towel.

The Randon things I collect on Tresorcache101

My blog name is called Tresorcache101. I liked the name Tresor cache from the first time I heard it. It sounded like a diamond in the rough. I like to find little treasures even at the curb. I picked that name when I started this blog way back when. Since Tresor cache was already taken in Google, I added the 101 at the end.  It is the place where I document stories about the items given to me by my Family and Friends either to keep or resale. Some of the items I are found at the curb or  at 2nd Hand Stores, Flea Markets.  Most of the photographs are mine with the exception of the occasional picture ideas for reference of what could be done with the item to upcycle.  Google " bpagani@poshmark.ca" and click on images you will be directed to my Poshmark closet where I sell. I post items on Instagram under randomthingsicollect. Please ask any question you have regarding any of my items.  Use my referral code "bpagani" to receive a $15 discount off your first purchas...
