Molotow paint markers up for a challenge against Liquitex paint markers

My son Joey bought me some of the Molotow paint markers 127HS 2mmn fine tip, from Cugino Boutique in Dorval for doing his ironing....wonderful little deal if I don't say so myself. Anyhow I testing them out on the weekend working on a 6x12 canvas that was primed with Gesso. They are very fluid and don't need to be pumped as much as the Liquitex. The paint comes out quite quickly and doesn't leave edges when doing a large area. I will be testing the finish to see how it holds up with a final coat of varnish. I didn't really like the matt finish on the black but all in all I found them to hold up better than the Liquitex. I will ask Joey to buy me some of their fat markers next to test. Since I didn't really like the black because it was too mat I used my Liquitex black markers and now it looks good. One negative is the Molotow paint markers seem to bleed when varnish was applied. So in my next test I will let the paint cure for 24hrs.  And since I was ...

Inspired by Meredith Pardue in latest painting

I had done some paintings a while ago when I first started testing Liquitex Spray Paints and when I came across Meridith's video on Youtube ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9sjV58gV_I ) I was inspired to do another painting like the first one's I did. You will see my style is not at all like hers but it is the same principal of editing the background. Meridith's work then there is mine....thank you Meridth I love your work and it is very inspiring these are the one's I did previously  and this is the latest painting in progress

Still in Love with Liquitex Spray Paints and Markers

Here is the latest painting that I have been working on while trying to complete the huge commissioned painting which I landed up having a block on. So when I do get into those blocks, I doodle and just have a blast trying to shake off what ever is blocking me. So I brought a bunch of canvases outdoors one day and randomly sprayed them with some of the Liquitex paints which I love but the nozzles clog very easily so I also pick up and extra supply of extra nozzles when I got to the art supply store. Then I pulled out the one's that called to me. There was only 2 of the 5. This is the one that I decided to play with to break my block. So after the spraying and dragging some of the paint with my paint brush and pallet knife this is the one that I decided that I would start outlining some details with my Liquitex markers. I hung it in the hallway (my personal little gallery) and just looked at it over and over.....and this is where I went with it. I am not happy with the white Ti...

Claire Desjardins colourful painting inspiration for my new painting

Okay so I am supposed to be finishing my big painting for Justin which I am just not feeling the love for....I tried to conclude the eyes but either they seemed too big or they seemed to small....gesso works wonders and now I am back to a clean slate on the eyes.....grrr! So instead of throwing a whole gallon of paint at the other one, I started a new one today. My inspiration comes from Claire Desjardins....obviously mine is completely different as usual. I just loved the colours that she used with the black background. I think I may do the pouring medium to top coat it and make it really pop                                                   This is Claire's painting which I just love the colours: And this is mine Now that I got some frustration out, maybe I'll get back to Justin's painting

Pouring medium experiments with Liquitex Pouring medium and markers

A couple of the other experiments with pouring medium on mini 6x12 canvases This was an 8x8 painting that I didn't like so it got poured on I love this one and want to do a huge 24x36 like this....gotta wait for this size to go on special This is the product that spilt over into my container which I thought I could peel off like a skin but the container was too porous. So from here on I will use plastic wrap. This is the pouring medium and then I painted in with Liquitex markers
