Picker sisters

http://www.mylifetime.com/shows/picker-sisters/tips-and-tricks-for-picking http://www.mylifetime.com/shows/picker-sisters/guide-to-treasure-hunting I  came across this show while flicking through the stations on Lifetime TV at 10pm a couple of weeks ago. There is a couple of shows out there right now in the US such as American pickers and they all have some wonderful ideas. These girls pick up some pretty heavy industrial pieces and revamp them with the help of their carpenter, welder helper Alan.

Wicker chair and couch garbage find

My hubbie found this wonderful little set at the curb and brought it home for revamping. At first look I was not going to touch it as it seemed like a huge project but now I am finding great inspiration ideas thru fellow bloggers. Unfortunetaly the cushions that were with it were too used to even try to salvage. I will most likely buy some new foam and then use the some of the 50 ft of fabric that I got from my girlfriend Kitty when she was moving from Montreal. Here is the idea for the cushions and slip covers at Beach Vintage:  http://beachvintage.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2011-06-22T15%3A22%3A00%2B10%3A00&max-results=12 This is the color I want to spray paint it when fixed. Source: Well I think the verdict if finally in for the darker colour. Now should I use paint or stain. I think that Krylon probably has the best paint out there right now so I will have to see if I can match the colour and while I am at it, I will stand my wicker plant s...

Latest garbage find

My husband pulled this baby out of someones garbage last week. It's a heavy sucker and has quite a bit of rot on it. I brought it up to the cottage and sanded it down and replaced 5 boards which were beyond repair with rot sealer. Then I gave it 2 coats of burgundy paint and it looks wonderful along with my other 4 adirondack chairs. I'll post the end result as soon as we get back up to the cottage. And here it is. Today July 29th, my neighbor's are throwing one in the garbage because the arm is broken....to be added to the one's up north. I forgot to add this little children's chair that I also found completely broken in pieces. I spent way too much time sanding it and glueing it together and now it holds my Christmas cactus in the dining room.
