Barbara Pagani's Tresor Cache 101

This mini painting is an alcohol ink on yupo, mounted on birch panel and then resined with #Art_resin. The sides of this panel have relief with texture paste and then metallic paints added over.  The true color are gold and then randomly added blue turquoise metallic paints.  this is what it looks like with the sun hitting it. It almost looks gold.  This is the relief on the side panel. 

This is the print that Elaine liked and was laminated on canvas with the matt gel I made some of my own templates for the printing with puffy paint  this is one of my linoleum carvings that I did years ago  yup I got suckered in with Gelli printing. I went for at least 2 weeks of printing when we had some family issues and I was forced to stop. There are topics all over you tube and so far Carolyn Dube and Jane Davies are my favorite. Jane Davies relaxes me and I could listen to her tutorials without the music forever. She makes everything seem so effortless. I like Carolyn because she has no fear and paints anything. So I bought 2 gelli plates, which are not cheap. The first one I had money left on my December birthday gift card from our local art supply shop, Omer DeSerres. I had to try it, and luckily it was on special and I only had to pay the taxes. It was a 6x6" which is small but I cured my fix for a couple of days when I went on our local Varage Sa...

Grace Booney from Design Sponge had once posted a really cool site that blows up your art work in a museum but along with the old computer which died so did most of my links and I am just too lazy to go searching through my back up for it. I came across one that is even cooler by putting your work up in a house setting. ohmyprints.com

These were all done on Fabriano unica papers which I got as a sample when making a purchase at my local art store. I must say they are quite strong and can tolerate print making techniques. They are very nice on mono printing. I have yet to try them on gelli printing. And a couple of them will be torn up and used as collage with some matt medium in a new painting to be unveiled soon. 

The New studio is my son's old room and I am not bring anything in there except my easel, paints, brushes, mediums and one table and a chair. Of course I will be taking my time bringing up one thing at a time.

I started what was to be a simple 24x36 painting while up at the cottage this week . I had an image and the colors of the painting in my head but just did not focus or want to focus on getting that out. My husband got frustrated with me and kept coming over and asking me if this is the idea that I talked about. For some reason or something else was coming out. My good friend Leslie, who may I say can also be sneaky caught most of the transformation of this painting on camera with out me know most of it. The pictures should be revealed shortly. No humans were hurt in the processing of this painting. 

I don't really like to talk about this but my paintings help relieving the pain that I have been living with. I work mostly at night while everyone is enjoying a good sleep which is something I don't do much of. Without getting into details, the only thing that helps me at this point to relieve my pain, is work on my paintings. I could try to stay in bed and fight not being able to sleep but I choose to not fight it and walk like a zombie around the house in the midst of the night and paint. I see the sun rise very often and I used to love it because it was very rare that I would see it but now it see it almost every couple of days. The joke here is not have a good night sleep but try to get sleep. I keep telling myself, "I am bigger than my pain" and do some deep breathing. So far nothing has helped me stay asleep for more than an hour. So here are some of the latest paintings

I have been meaning play with Flow aid release for a while so today I took out all my old inks and two 14 x 18 canvases and went ahead and just played around . It takes quite a bit of time for this product to dry so I put them out in the sun for the afternoon. Next week I will have a look at them and start doing some blocking out with white.

This poor table got a real banged up.So I decided that I would paint it....as if I needed an excuse. I wanted to do some of the work like done on Graphic Fairy site but I decided to make it more personalized                  For the cake area I added some modeling past with white paint to make it look real. I used "White icing" white Martha Stewart chalkpaint to coat the whole table first. I did 3 light coats to get into some of the groves in the table because I didn't not sand it down. After I drew out some of the designs that I wanted and painted them in with Liquitex paint markers. The grey "yesterday" is also chalk paint by Americana Decor.  . I will be going back up to the cottage shortly to finish it because it is a side table that we need to use in the kitchen and I have been dragging this project out for a bit. on a Coco Chanel roll

I am doing some image transfer and spray paint with this one. I am not sure if I am liking it though. I will put it aside for a bit and go back to it at a later date.

My grandson who is 2 now is obsessed with Thomas the train. So I made him a big painting for his room for Christmas. This is one of the cheap canvases that I bought at Michaels craft store so I am not worried it he does manage to knock it off the wall. I will probably have to re stretch the canvas at some point.

This one is for my daughter's bedroom 24 x 36 Montreal scene. It took a bit of time to conclude and I was worried about the colours being to dramatic because my son in law likes things simple. This was a canvas that I purchased at Michaels craft store because they were on sale, never again will I waste my money on their canvases as it was not stretched properly. I will most likely take it back from my daughters and restrech it when I get some good stretching pliers
