Perfect day to resin

It's been a while since I have resined a painting and I have 2 paintings  that have been waiting for some time. Last night it got cool, so today is the day.

I keep most of my resin supplies together with a list of things I need or need to do. I always forget to write down how much resin and harderner I use.

Today was a total of 606 grams of resin and hardener for a 20" x 24" wood panel.

I think I will add more the next time as it could have used a bit more with a few spills.

We shall see if it needs a second coat.

I picked up these beautiful brass lamps at the thrift store and while taking photos of them, I realized they paired lovely with the painting.

This painting below was a pouring medium that I did on canvas in 2012. It turned out beautiful with the  flow of the pouring medium. I top coated it with the pouring medium as a final coat and was really surprised that it looked like glass. This is long b4 I tried resin. So years pass and it got transported to a few shows and I guess the pouring medium was not a stable final coat and it cracked in several places. I mean I really wasn't expecting it to last forever considering that it was on canvas. I top coated it yesterday and there is still some visibility of the cracks but I need to look up close. Here are some of the closeups.

Below is another one on canvas that is finished with resin.
I should mention that I did not coat the back although I hear I am supposed to.

The Randon things I collect on Tresorcache101

My blog name is called Tresorcache101. I liked the name Tresor cache from the first time I heard it. It sounded like a diamond in the rough. I like to find little treasures even at the curb. I picked that name when I started this blog way back when. Since Tresor cache was already taken in Google, I added the 101 at the end.  It is the place where I document stories about the items given to me by my Family and Friends either to keep or resale. Some of the items I are found at the curb or  at 2nd Hand Stores, Flea Markets.  Most of the photographs are mine with the exception of the occasional picture ideas for reference of what could be done with the item to upcycle.  Google " bpagani@poshmark.ca" and click on images you will be directed to my Poshmark closet where I sell. I post items on Instagram under randomthingsicollect. Please ask any question you have regarding any of my items.  Use my referral code "bpagani" to receive a $15 discount off your first purchas...
