Crushed Black Velvet Silk Wrap

Some of the velvet shows signs of wear.  I will wash it by hand or maybe take it to the cleaners to see if they can do something about this.  Also, velvet doesn't photograph very easy. It shows any lint and it tough to get off. This elegant crushed black velvet wrap is lined with silk and rayon is perfect for any occasion.  Its sleek design offers a timeless look that pairs well with any outfit. It could also be used as a table runner, or at the end of a bed.  I was thinking of using it for my idea to make framed costume brooches. It has some wear as seen in photos but still looks prestigious. A must-have addition to your wardrobe. Measurements: Length: 70" Width: 20 The fringe measures 7"  I am really not sure if I should sell it. It would be a wonderful Goth piece as well.

How to upcycle pink Alabaster

I am looking for ideas to upcycle the pieces broke from this beautiful lamp for a friend. It belonged to her Aunt and I am sure she cried when it fell to the floor by accident. I am not sure if it's Alabaster or Marble. Most people would say trash it but I can't, it's too beautiful. I asked a neighbor who does mosaics and she says the pieces are too thick. I thought maybe a smaller piece could be made into a pendant like the art work of Bella Grey but the look too thick as well. I looked at the pieces that are broke to see if I could put it back together and it would be difficult but I am sure possible.  I will come back to this at a later date.

Uplifting Funeral Poem

All Is Well A comforting and uplifting funeral poem by Oxford professor Henry Scott Holland. The poem talks about love living on after death. All Is Well Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped into the next room I am I and you are you Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name, Speak to me in the easy way which you always used Put no difference in your tone, Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was, Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, Just around the corner. All is well.

Brooches

This is a cute dragonfly brooch I recently picked up. I am not sure if this is Sterling Silver and it is really nice quality .  I am using it to pair with some of my floral artwork. My mother had this in her jewelry box when I was growing up.  It is a badge in brownies group.  She never spoke of where it came from.   This was from my Aunt's estate and this is what I found on line This was a part of Mrs Appleton's estate. She was our neighbor growing up in LaSalle I purchased this in the Laurentians at an Roadside Antique Barn run by a wonderful guy named Jacques.  Its an Antique brooch with a man portrait. A nostalgic vintage costume jewelry piece. Age unknown Size approx.: 2.6 cm I am unsure what type of metal it is. There is some crazing on the glass. There is also signs of green oxidation which looks copper.

My Panapet Panasonic radio from the 1970's

I sold my cute radio today to a woman buying it for her sister who was turning 70. She was so easy to deal with. She sent me a message asking me in the morning and was promptly at my house by noon to buy it.  This is the rating she gave me: Thank you Dianne I can't wait for a picture of your sister with her Panapet.
