Brooches

SOLD: https://posh.mk/24M5xCEY32b

This is a cute dragonfly brooch I recently picked up. I am not sure if this is Sterling Silver and it is really nice quality silver tone metal.
It has some dimensional relief and etching work on it.
The tail isn't completely straight. I believe it was made like this.
It measures approx 2" tall and wide.
I am using it to pair with some of my floral artwork.

My mother had this in her jewelry box when I was growing up.  It is a badge in brownies group.

She never spoke of where it came from.

 Yemenite Bridal Basket Brooch

The brooch carries a vibrant presence and charm and simply can not be left unnoticed once put on.
The look is unique for being both of flamboyant quality and yet keeping a friendly appearance.
The pin is in nice vintage condition and can be safely put on.
Please review the picture carefully to see its condition as it is sold AS IS.

This was from my Aunt's estate and this is what I found on line

This was a part of Mrs Appleton's estate. She was our neighbor for many years growing up in LaSalle, Quebec

SOLD: https://posh.mk/irYYwomY32b

I purchased this in the Laurentians at an Roadside Antique Barn run by a wonderful guy named Jacques.
Its an Antique brooch with a man portrait.
A nostalgic vintage costume jewelry piece.
Age unknown

Size approx.: 2.6 cm
I am unsure what type of metal it is.
There is some crazing on the glass.
There is also signs of green oxidation which looks copper.

This is Vintage Scarf Brooch with lovely floral detailed design with a blue stone.
The metal is most likely brass.
I believe it should be worn with a very thin scarf.
The backing is closed and crooked.
There is a lot of wear on some of the original finish.
Sold AS IS.

Photo Editing site - PicMonkey

Thanks to wonderful Pinterest, I came across this wonderful photo editing site which has been recently been picked up by Google @ picMonkey.com Here are some of the cool effects that can be done:

Pictures of Montreal in the 60's

Decarie Boulevard 1961. The  Gibeau Orange Julep , also known as the Big Orange, was built by Hermas Gibeau in 1942. That building looked like  this  in the 1950s. The structure was rebuilt in the mid-1960s when the road was widened. This larger, fiberglass orange is 40 feet in diameter. The Orange Julep drink is similar to that produced by Orange Julius. Both companies developed their foamy orange drinks in the 1920s.
