Vintage Black and Gold Hurricane Lamp On A Metal Base With Drawer

This is an unusual black metal and brass accent hurricane lamp. The black base has brass detailing adds warm contrast to any room.  It has 2 curved metal handles to be able to carry it from room to room. Clear glass chimney provides soft, ambient candlelight.  There is a drawer that opens below to store the used Snuffer (included) and other items such as matches and candles. Condition: some marks on the hurricane lamp and metal consistent with use and age. I don't really get attached to things but this piece may just land up at my cottage. It has Prarie living all over it. Still available for now: https://posh.mk/9hZWGxUtX1b

Upcycled table cloth

In the winter I try to bring in as much light into the house as possible. I turned a lace tablecloth into a curtain to give my studio a girly Shabbychic look.

Old belt buckles

Early Plastic Buckle New old stock that’s been stored for decades.

Antique sewing basket

This sewing basket was my great grandmother's and part of my fascination with the #randomthingsicollect.  It is old and tattered but regarded as precious to me. It is possibly the reason why I love to collect anything associated with sewing and notions. I am not a sewer but do know how to darn things. I have made a couple of projects of simply straight lines on the sewing machine but I would need to take a course to be able to do any complex patterns. I do fix the worst holes my grandkids put in their clothing but its a labor of love.  I think I have ever color imaginable to match any garment. I just love the old wood ones and the labels  And how cute are these little minis My neighbor gave me this over 16 years ago and I have not used it once.  Its a perfect size and fits into the little case. It looks brand new. Maybe I should sell it.

Early Century Measuring Tape

This early century measuring tape made of early plastic. The spindle is likely bone. It is missing its lid.  Its orgin unknown, it is in amazing condition with a slight scratch on it that does not go all the way through. The tape pulls out with the little round lever and retracts by turning the center spindle. See photos for details. Recently I stumbled on one similar on Worthpoint, a Stanhope Souvenir Measuring Tape.

Some old tarnished copper canisters

As you can see they are really in need of a good polishing. Some people like the old tarnished look but I love polishing copper to see them come back all shiny and new. These are so dirty that they are starting to cause pitting. The polished one is the one on the left and dirty one on the right.

Almost everything is for sale unless...

Everything is sale unless one of my grandchildren wants it.  I have several vintage globes that I have collected over the years. Most of them are bigger and up high on a couple of shelves. One of my grandsons spotted this one and fell in love with it.

Antique Ironstone Fish mold

This is a 20th Century antique white ironstone mould in the shape of a fish, made by Societe Ceramique of Maastricht and stamped and marked #5 on the bottom. In nice aged condition see photos for condition. There are are few firing faults and age spots, most notable on the underside where there is a repair on the bottom of clay which most likely happened in the firing.  Available: https://posh.mk/6HOhypx2E1b

Watercolors with Vinessa Redford

I recently inherited some watercolor paints in the tube. There were various makes. I signed up for a free course with Vinessa Redford through the National Gallery of Canada. I had a bit of a hard time keeping up on the live course as I didn't go through and check to see if all the paints were good before hand so I got caught behind. From what I was able to keep up with was quite interesting. Here are some of my results which I cut into smaller works and mounted them on card stock and made book marks for my orders on bpagani@poshmark.ca  I highly recommend watching this video on the National Gallery of Canada when it is posted on YouTube. I will post the link when available. Also check out Vinessa Redford's work and other videos on https://www.pigmentsandmood.com/
