- Frank Lloyd Wright was commissioned to design the museum in 1943 by Solomon R. Guggenheim and museum director Hilla Rebay.
- The museum was conceived as a "temple of the spirit" to house and display Solomon Guggenheim's expanding collection of modern art.
- Wright spent 15 years developing the design, creating numerous sketches and working drawings for the building, which was eventually completed and opened in 1959.
This book features pop-up representations of six of Frank Lloyd Wright's most famous buildings, including the Robie House, Ennis House, Fallingwater, Johnson's Wax Administrative Building, Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
It uses paper engineering techniques to bring these architectural marvels to life in a three-dimensional format.
The book also includes photographs, construction details, and an informed narrative alongside the pop-ups.
