Ways to inspire your ART

This is from Balzer Designs on CONFIDENCE AND CREATING These are great ideas to help you to inspire you to do your ART....I know there are days when it just doesn't seem to be there. In my case, I have all my supplies all over the house in different bins and I loose my focus by not being able to find some of my supplies. Anyhow these are great tips: Take a class  -- in person is best but online will do.  Knowledge = Confidence.  But taking a class is different from reading a book or watching a YouTube video, even though those both give you knowledge.  A class inherently comes with a community.  And a group of people who are all trying to learn the same things, going through the same struggles, and triumphing, can be very comforting.  The reason I say that in person classes are best is because you are forced to create in that class.  An online class allows you to watch the video or read the handout and not necessarily do anything about it....

The difference that a point will do

The Atelier de Lachine had our annual pot luck and Art supply auction between us last night and there was tons of food and great Art supplies. I was so excited that I was able to pick up some markers that one of my all time  favourite cartoonist had sent in with his wife who is a member of our group. I am so amazed with them that I could hardly sleep. I kept drawing in my dreams all night so by 4:30 this morning, I told myself this is silly, get out of bed and go give them a try. OMG, what a difference this pen is from the Micron 03. I will have to find out where to buy them. They are the Artline 200 fine 0.04.

My lost Gnome

We were robbed in our back yard one year and it is awful to think that you have to lock everything up. Stupid stuff was taken like my wonderful bistro table that I used to sit especially in the morning while having my coffee and of course the 2 chairs that went with it. An old metal watering can, some of my old garden tools, a long extension cord. These were the things I noticed right off the bat but the rest slowly came to me over the course of the next week or so....too many things to mention. Anyhow these were my things and this is not a charity and I was really upset especially when I realized that they may have taken my gnome. I loved it, it's body was set on springs so that it would bobble and to top it off my daughter had bought it as a surprise for me as she said it had my name all over it. I was more upset about this than I was about the wonderful bistro set and I was going to do something about it. I decided I would find my picture that I had taken of it when it w...

Gen & Denis's Engagement gift

When I asked my daughter Krista what I could do for a painting for Gen & Denis, she said do something that she loves, Denis (which was a little difficult to do) her cat, Pistache and another favorite thing is wine. She also told me that she has an obsession with gnomes and being a gnome lover myself (see my little blurb about the time I thought my was robbed out of my back yard) but Denis hates them so I decided on something a little whimsy like her cat. I came across an a cute cat painting and then just customized it for them. She of course loved it but we can never be too sure what Denis thinks about it.

Some old pictures scanned

Wow, I came across some old pictures that I had done in ink many years ago. I believe it was in the 70's. Anyhow I decided to scan them and crop some of the sections as some of the papers were torn and of course I used tape which eat right through the paper.

A million and one things to do - Day One

Day One- and now day 4 -A million and one things to do I just finished my usual clean up this morning and now I have to tackle one or more of the things to do list. Since I really hate paper work or bills hanging around I have decided that this would be the longest and hardest mission. After that of course will be some free time to work on some art which is of course my favourite thing to do. Must make sure to take photos of progression of work. Right now I have 5 paintings in the works on my newly stretched canvases that I did last week. A pair of winter skates in design phase and sketches for 2 paintings. I think since my time is limited today I will work on the skates. Photo to follow  I have limited myself to only 45 mins on blogging, emails, and of course the famous Pinterest.....it is so addictive. I see cute ideas on there every day. So when the timer goes on in the kitchen on the stove so does the computer. I have opted to allow myself more time in the eve...

Reuse, Recycle, & Reduce energy.

Here is a site that I came across through  http://www.housetweaking.com/2010/10/12/humanite-where-fashion-upcycled-decor-intersect/  called,  hu manité:  dwelling.  style.  compassion. I love the use of recycled, upcycled items for the designs in the store.
