Holy cow is looking for a new home and a name - Give away

That's right, one lucky person who adds their email and mailing address and what I should name this cow in my comments section of this blog will get this Holy cow for free. It is 6x12 on canvas. The paint is Molotow paint markers and Liquitex black. Varnished and ready to hang . Draw to take place on Dec 2nd 2013 and it will go to the best name

My review of Kroma crackle paste

Here we go again with another test. This time it is on crackle paste made by Kroma. I bought this one because the other products that was available by Golden didn't have any directions on the container. Shame on you Golden this is the least you could do. Not the first time I have seen this on Golden's products either. Anyhow the product spreads very well. I added on top of a painting I had done a while ago which I didn't really like. You have to apply it quite thick. It takes up to 3 days to dry depending on the temperature. After 2 days, it did dry and the cracks weren't that big but I applied some fluid medium on top and proceeded to add some layers of paint to see what it would look like. I wasn't really all that happy with the results so I kept on applying more colour. I still wasn't happy with the results so I let it dry and then added even more crackle this time even thicker than the last. It is now only the second day so further comments to follow.

Molotow paint markers up for a challenge against Liquitex paint markers

My son Joey bought me some of the Molotow paint markers 127HS 2mmn fine tip, from Cugino Boutique in Dorval for doing his ironing....wonderful little deal if I don't say so myself. Anyhow I testing them out on the weekend working on a 6x12 canvas that was primed with Gesso. They are very fluid and don't need to be pumped as much as the Liquitex. The paint comes out quite quickly and doesn't leave edges when doing a large area. I will be testing the finish to see how it holds up with a final coat of varnish. I didn't really like the matt finish on the black but all in all I found them to hold up better than the Liquitex. I will ask Joey to buy me some of their fat markers next to test. Since I didn't really like the black because it was too mat I used my Liquitex black markers and now it looks good. One negative is the Molotow paint markers seem to bleed when varnish was applied. So in my next test I will let the paint cure for 24hrs.  And since I was

Some tutorials on different Liquitex, Golden and Dick Blick mediums while in Texas

Here are some of the samples boards that I worked on to show my sister in law some of the different mediums while I was visiting with her. After some testing I have to say that the Dick Blick mediums and paints were very nice to work with and quite comparable to some of the Liquitex and Golden products and relatively inexpensive. this was gel medium paste with some soft body paints. Gel Medium was applied which is still not dry in this picture this was modelling pasted with soft body paints. Gel Medium was applied which is still not dry in this picture Gel medium mixed directly with soft body paints.....still wet Same design but different colours with soft body paints and marker paints painted chiminea for my sister in law's garden
