Update on takeover of " House of Flowers"- now named "daydreamer"

House of Flowers 24 x 36 $200.00 This is my latest painting that I worked on while on vacation. It is acrylic soft body paints. Dim 24 x 36 I also started 2 smaller paintings which I will finish on my next trip to the cottage. Gee remember how cute this painting was.....well as you may be aware, unless the final varnish is on, this is open season to play around with the painting......I could just shoot myself sometimes. Here is the mess that I made. As Chuck would say, "you just can't leave well enough alone". Okay I must confess I went too far and started blocking out areas that seemed too complicated and landed up gessoing the whole thing......Is this license of freedom or destruction????? I just can't help myself. It's as if someone else takes over the paint brush. This is why I have been taking pictures on a regular basis to show my insanity or is it creativity? You be the judge. All I know is my family gives me a lot of guff when I do this. So ha

Pumpkin treats for dogs

especially those with upset tummies after eating sticks and yes, stones. Recipe via  http://simmertilldone.com/2009/10/07/retriever-retriever-pumpkin-eater/ Cleo’s Pumpkin Dog Biscuits 2 eggs 1/2 cup canned pumpkin 2 tablespoons dry milk 1/4 teaspoon sea salt 2 1/2 cups brown rice flour * 1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional) Preheat oven to 350. In large bowl, whisk together eggs and pumpkin to smooth. Stir in dry milk, sea salt, and dried parsley (if using, optional). Add brown rice flour gradually, combining with spatula or hands to form a stiff, dry dough. Turn out onto lightly floured surface (can use the brown rice flour) and if dough is still rough, briefly knead and press to combine. Roll dough between 1/4 – 1/2″ – depending on your dog’s chew preferences, ask first – and use biscuit or other shape cutter to punch shapes, gathering and re-rolling scraps as you go. Place shapes on cookie sheet, no greasing or paper necessary. If desired, press fork pattern on biscu

Vacation in Lac Labelle 2012

The weather wasn't the greatest as it rained almost 10 days out of the 14 we stayed there, but at least the sun came out every day by 3pm and we enjoyed the lake. Henry our new dog, swam for his first time in the lake. He needed a life jacket because he would sink down and get tons of water in his nose and start honking. Blu our 6 mos old lab is able to go almost to the dock. We had lots of visitors, my daughter Sam and her boyfriend Joe P., my son Joey and his girlfriend Liane, Chuck's Uncle Egon and girlfriend Crystal, and on the last evening our friend Larry and Christine. We celebrated my son, Joey's 21st birthday and had a wonderful dinner. Tons of projects were done from painting 2 rooms in the basement, making apple sauce from the apples picked on a tree on the road, and partial sanding of the deck. And they say that dog's look like their owner's. someone get me a cigar and a scotch boring real tired af

Pictures of Montreal in the 60's

Decarie Boulevard 1961. The  Gibeau Orange Julep , also known as the Big Orange, was built by Hermas Gibeau in 1942. That building looked like  this  in the 1950s. The structure was rebuilt in the mid-1960s when the road was widened. This larger, fiberglass orange is 40 feet in diameter. The Orange Julep drink is similar to that produced by Orange Julius. Both companies developed their foamy orange drinks in the 1920s.
