DIY Yarn balls for parties

Taken from blog: http://wednesdaycustomdesign.com/blog/messiest-merriest-and-whirliest-diy-balls Now you can't say we didn't warn you. The level of messiness involved in this project definitely warrants the great outdoors or a tarp covered floor in your home. However, I think you will find that the fun you had along the way and the final product makes the mess completely worth it! Gather up: Big balloon Sharpie Scissors Cotton yarn 4 oz. White school glue 1/2 cup of Corn starch 1/4 cup of Warm water Something to stir with Petroleum jelly Clear fast drying spray paint Hanging lamp cord or fishing line (depending on your desired final product) Container for mixing Directions Blow up a balloon. We kind of suggest not blowing it up to its maximum capacity so that it is rounder. After the balloon is inflated to it's desired size draw a circle with the sharpie around the balloon knot just large enough to accommodate whatever lighting method you

What a great idea for recycling art work

I came across this posting on Craigslist in the Artist section. What a great idea for someone starting off with a low budget to be able to decorate their place. Date: 2011-04-18, 5:27AM EDT Reply to: comm-6jkqz-2331742892@craigslist.org -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Artist hi i'm looking for art that you have created and have disregarded because it was imperfect or not perfect enough to put in a gallery, but felt it was too good to be left in the trash unloved and un-appreciated. i am redecorating my room and felt that art from montreal artists is such a unique thing that i vowed to only use montreal artist as my displays. i dont have that large of a budget, as you can see i'm only asking for things that you may no longer care for. But where you may feel it is not good enough i might find beautiful and will proudly hang on my wall or display properly. please contact me with anything you might be willing to part
