Happy Halloween

I have become really lazy over the years with the holiday decorating. My middle daughter usually takes care of it. While visiting my sister in law in Texas she wanted me to help her carve pumpkins and I told her honestly that I don't do that anymore. After she had carved her first one, it smelt so bad inside so I told her to go ahead and paint the next one. Since I love painting, I painted one with her. Here is mine.

Inspired by Meredith Pardue in latest painting

I had done some paintings a while ago when I first started testing Liquitex Spray Paints and when I came across Meridith's video on Youtube ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9sjV58gV_I ) I was inspired to do another painting like the first one's I did. You will see my style is not at all like hers but it is the same principal of editing the background. Meridith's work then there is mine....thank you Meridth I love your work and it is very inspiring these are the one's I did previously  and this is the latest painting in progress

Playing with Liquitex Pouring Medium and image transfer and Flow Aid Release

While testing different products for image transfer I came across this wonderful picture of my grandson and my son in law. I printed it on my new laser printer and then transferred the image with Liquitex gloss medium which worked on wood. I then stained the wood with different colours of green and blue with Flow aid release. I let it dry for 24 hours then did the image transfer on top. Image transfer doesn't seem to work so well on canvas....believe I have been trying. Then once all the paper was removed, I applied pouring medium on top with the edges raised with some masking tape. It did manage to pour through in a couple of spots but nothing like the rough edges I got previously. Some of the edges were a little rough and raised a little higher on one side. But all and all, I am very happy with the results. while curing completely cured and masking tape removed. I will probably have to lightly sand the edges so that it is not rough.

Playing around with Liquitex Pouring Medium

Here is a painting that I didn't really like so much and I was just playing around with it trying to get out of my painting block and then I added some pouring medium to it.....I will probably add another layer or 2 to it before I give it the final coat. this was the older painting I started blocking out some of background colours but it was looking like a chicken on rolling skates and a flower head more blocking with black  now adding some gesso and playing with some other colours and not liking where I am going but still playing around more editing to happen  adding some paint with pouring medium  finally dry....but still more playing happening. Pictures to follow added more colour....but still more playing happening. Pictures to follow
