My product review on the new Professional water based Liquitex Spray Paints

Wow I was so excited to try the new water based Spray Paints by Liquitex. They are inter mixable with acrylic paint. Last week I attended a demo hosted by Francoise Issaly who in my opinion does a wonderful  demo as she is very enthusiastic about working with different mediums, anyhow she did a 2 hour demo on various products and processes, one being image transfer (which has been a fascination of mine for the last couple of years), Pouring medium and also the new spray paints. I called Omer Deserres the following day to find out they had them in stock. I bought 4 of my favourite colours, Red, Yellow, Blue and Gold. All transparent except for the Gold. I played around with them on some old grunge boards I had and was quite happy with them, considering that I do Airbrush, it was a lot simpler to use this than pull out the compressor and have to clean my airbrush. I did as advised and removed the nozzles and cleaned them after turning the cans up side down and cleaning out any existin

Still in Love with Liquitex Spray Paints and Markers

Here is the latest painting that I have been working on while trying to complete the huge commissioned painting which I landed up having a block on. So when I do get into those blocks, I doodle and just have a blast trying to shake off what ever is blocking me. So I brought a bunch of canvases outdoors one day and randomly sprayed them with some of the Liquitex paints which I love but the nozzles clog very easily so I also pick up and extra supply of extra nozzles when I got to the art supply store. Then I pulled out the one's that called to me. There was only 2 of the 5. This is the one that I decided to play with to break my block. So after the spraying and dragging some of the paint with my paint brush and pallet knife this is the one that I decided that I would start outlining some details with my Liquitex markers. I hung it in the hallway (my personal little gallery) and just looked at it over and over.....and this is where I went with it. I am not happy with the white Ti

My Art in homes of people who have bought them or received them as gifts or donations

I have been putting together some pictures from the people who I have either given or sold my art to  in their homes. If you have received or bought a piece of my art and it is not listed here in this post, you can send me a picture directly to my email address at barbpag@hotmail.com so that I can update this post. I would like to see the person who bought or received the art in the picture if possible. This is an image transfer that was done on 8 x 10 wooden canvas board and then coloured in with metalic markers and varnished. This was donated to for raffle to go to the Musicians who played at a House Concert @ Rickk's Room in the Laurentiens. I will be doing a few more of these due to popular demand....of course we all know none of them will be the same.  For my cousin Ann ,John Lennon 24 x 36  One also done for Andrea, same size For my cousin Ann small 8x8 acrylic and 8x 10 water colour My cousin's Art Gallery with newest painting on the right

Some encaustic paintings still not finished

B is for Blusanovics, our family name wooden edges need to be painted My son and I worked on this hence the Fire and Water it still needs work

These boards were the reason I started playing with a lot of relief

These were done with plaster and a pen to make the relief This one I used a potato masher in the center.

it's time to clean up the studio/dog room and finish off some older paintings and put them up for sale

My studio is also the 2 dogs room....and they do take up a lot of space but it really doesn't matter if I am working in there or in the dining room on larger paintings, they are always with me, so I always have to be careful not to trip over them....too bad they are so cute. These are some older paintings that I really wasn't liking while doing them but after discovering them hidden in the back of the room, I decided today is the day they come out to see the light and either get put on the schedule for completion next week or rework. I will start with this one first and when completed move on the the next

Things that should be easier- All I want to do is add a Pinterest button to follow on my blog

I am so frustrated trying to figure out how to add a Pinterest button to follow me on my blog. After 2 days of attempts searching high and low and I have even gone directly to Pinterest goodies and for the life of me either I can't read properly or I just don't understand English or Html for that matter, but I am lost. Is there now a place where I can just drag and drop the button on to my blog? If anyone out there hears my pain, please help.

How I started drawing

I started drawing when I was younger because we really couldn't afford the Hallmark cards, so I would take whatever paper was available at that time and fold it in 4 and make my own. I am now know for never buying a card unless I am out of card stock or just in a rush, which is rare. So in my journey of exploring my art and where I have come to with all the mediums that I love playing with, I remind myself of where I started. I must say that it is probably the most enjoyable part of what I do when I create anything just like sketching. I get my ideas for larger paintings from this and now I make at least 2 to 3 cards a week. I have a stash of them. Some I didn't really like, I cut and paste and scan them in various ways. One thing I have never thought of is selling them but I think I will now because they are all different, no matter how many times I think that I re-do the same idea just like the rest of my art work. Here are some of the latest that I have done this week a

Up-cycling garbage find, a cute wooden rocking chair

Up until this year, I was famous for picking up stuff in the garbage and either bringing it home, cleaning, sanding and then painting some little design on it or even just drop it at the local second hand store, but because I am trying to clean up the house, I have been holding back......until I saw this cute little rocking chair. I was screaming, pick me up, clean me up and come and sit on me while reading a book. So I brought it home last Friday and I am proud of how quickly I worked on it. Maybe it has something to do with Mr. man's frown when he saw it. Anyhow here are the pic's of start to finish, it will look great in my grandson's room, until he is able to sit and read a good book.                                   And here is the lucky winner of this wonderful rocking chair.
