Busy weekends working at our cottages

This spring we had issues again with the thaw and all the rain because our cottage is on a hill and most of the water was coming down the driveway and going around the house and coming in through the basement door. Finally we bit the bullet and had the excavator come and dig a trench away from the house and add more gravel around the foundation. This is the contractor, Benoit aka Bubbles  Our good friend Larry

4 paintings, 2 different mediums

I started 4 new mini 6 x 12" paintings today, same idea 2 different mediums. 2 are done with flow aid and then heavy gel is applied after it dried. The other's two are with acrylic medium and then coated with high gloss medium. the high gloss medium is still curing after 8 hrs. The flow aid gave wonderful soft results.  The acrylic medium extended the colors  I like both results but not sure if the heavy gel is the way to go.  Next test will be with pouring mediums.

Blu our 6 mos old lab is able to go almost to the dock. We had lots of visitors, my daughter Sam and her boyfriend Joe P., my son Joey and his girlfriend Liane, Chuck's Uncle Egon and girlfriend Crystal, and on the last evening our friend Larry and Christine. We celebrated my son, Joey's 21st birthday and had a wonderful dinner. Tons of projects were done from painting 2 rooms in the basement, making apple sauce from the apples picked on a tree on the road, and partial sanding of the deck. And they say that dog's look like their owner's. someone get me a cigar and a scotch boring real tired af...
