Missing my dog Jack

We had to put our Labrador Jack, down to sleep last August as his arthritis go so bad that he couldn't stand up anymore. I think he knew he was not going to get thru this incident like the last time we put him on Glucosamine. He wasn't able to stand up anymore so I told the kids that they may want to spend some time with him yesterday and if you didn't see him trying to stand up you would have thought that he was fine because he was just as cute as can be. Samantha, Joey and Joe P. took him to the vet's and I said my last goodbye to the best dog I ever had. He was like my shadow. Everywhere I went, he followed. I never had to worry about him running off. I noticed in the last couple of months that his hips were giving him problems again and then just out of nowhere, he was having major issues doing the stairs. I have already read "Marley and Me" and had previous experiences with my last Lab, Rikki but I was not prepared for the break outs of crying that I have been doing since yesterday. My neighbor's son came by to wish me condelences while I was bringing up the garbage can and I literally fell to pieces crying. We are picking him up from the vet's as they froze him and will put him to rest at our cottage where our other dog is buried.

Pictures of Montreal in the 60's

Decarie Boulevard 1961. The  Gibeau Orange Julep , also known as the Big Orange, was built by Hermas Gibeau in 1942. That building looked like  this  in the 1950s. The structure was rebuilt in the mid-1960s when the road was widened. This larger, fiberglass orange is 40 feet in diameter. The Orange Julep drink is similar to that produced by Orange Julius. Both companies developed their foamy orange drinks in the 1920s.
