Latest painting - 24 x 36 Acrylic- Hanging and ready for varnish.

I am hoping this picture is a little clearer, it is so hard to capture a painting with gloss on it when there is no sun as the flash reflects off of it.

I didn't take pictures when I first started but the painting has evolved into something else, as usual. So before it takes any other turns, here is the post as of Friday. I need a good sunny day to be able to get a better picture.

Jan 23rd, 2013 Well it turns out it is just really hard to take photos with this glossy varnish. I tried again today and this is the best shots that I could get without getting shadows.

The close up turned out pretty goo.

I think it's time to say I have worked enough on this painting. It is hanging waiting for my internal okay that it is ready for the final varnish. I like to hang them and wait a couple of weeks to see it there are any little details that I may want to include. I am not sure what I am going to name it, they look somewhat like Fushia's to me but my intent was more bleeding hearts which did not really materialize.

Pictures of Montreal in the 60's

Decarie Boulevard 1961. The  Gibeau Orange Julep , also known as the Big Orange, was built by Hermas Gibeau in 1942. That building looked like  this  in the 1950s. The structure was rebuilt in the mid-1960s when the road was widened. This larger, fiberglass orange is 40 feet in diameter. The Orange Julep drink is similar to that produced by Orange Julius. Both companies developed their foamy orange drinks in the 1920s.
