Experimenting with some new tools, Catalyst wedges and blades

While out shopping with a friend for some ceramic supplies, I came across these Catalyst wedges and blades that are usually sold at the bigger art stores for double the price. I had seen on some of the you tube channels that I follow. I picked up 3 of them, 1 just plain wedge, one with some edges on it and the blade with is not a brush but more like a spatula. They work really well on spreading mediums, paints and varnish. Not so good with inks as the inks have a tendency to absorb very quickly. I was very impressed when I worked on an image transfer how it spreads very well into a crevice. It made the clean up of the edges very simple. here is the little image transfer I made for my son's girlfriend for her birthday

Random things I paint and collect

People ask why I use these as a hashtags on Instagram and it is mostly about the painting process. I don't get too involved in any painting, as it is more about the process then the result. One may say that this may be destructive but I find it feeds my desire to paint and keeps the desire alive. If a painting doesn't take the direction that I thought it would, I will put it aside and come back to it at a later date when magically I see something in it. And the same thing goes for the random things that I collect, I will collect things and then suddenly I sell them all and start with something else.
