Determining where to make a cut on a large Terraskin painting

On my live feed tonight on Instagram, I discuss how to make the cut on a large sheet of alcohol inks. This one was on Terraskin. I found it to be too much and therefore I decided to break it into smaller little minis. So after looking at the pieces broken into smaller manageable sizes, I run it through my favourite thing, the guillotine. There are two sounds I love, that and scissors. I stamped some trees on some of the edges and gave a little definition of the horizon line. Some of them still need some work with little touch ups but here is what we have so far. This was the piece stamped with trees on the left hand side and then I decided to make the cut at the base of the metalic tree.  I see a mountain in the back ground.  This one will get a line in the horizon to make it look like either clouds or other trees.

Ranger's texture wings with Gesso

on my live feed on IG this evening I am working a fine little stencil of wings from Ranger. I added relief to some of my old water colors and I will let them dry and tomorrow add some acrylics or stamp them up a bit. And then I will add some of the Dylusions Mica spray. I have to do a little refresher course on how to blue tooth my photos from my camera to my older computer. So photos to follow. lucky me, I was able to remember how it was done. Brain dead tonight. Oh yeah I am curious to see what other people have done with them. Just a little foot note. They are so small and delicate that you really need to clean them up and put them back into the packaging they came in. I lost the first one I bought and have been looking for them for months. So today when at Michael's I just couldn't help myself. I did a card with them using Gel medium on Yupo and the alcohol inks and they turned out beautiful.

some cards made from the scrap pieces of yupo

After cutting the sheets of  Yupo to mount on the birch panels for Resining, I had a huge pile of the scrap pieces that were from the edges of the paintings. I had a birthday card to make so I mounted one of the little scraps and put one together. After that I though oh why not just take the rest of them and mount them on my blank cardstock. And then of course I had so much fun stamping them and coloring them in with some markers. I made at least 40 on the first couple of batches and the next thing I knew I was making more. Some of my friends came for dinner one night and I showed them the cards and the next thing I knew they were buying them all. I went out the next day and bought some more card stock and have been making them since. Funny thing is that is how I started drawing as a kid by making birthday cards. I think I have bought only half a dozen store bought cards in my life. Now I am looking at investing in one of the embossing and die cutting machines. I have been reading up

Some more alcohol ink paintings

Some of the resined paintings done

As you can see I have not added anything on my blog for some time. Well I need to confess to I have become an alcoholic ink addict. I also invested in some Art Resin which finally after a long period of time, I finally used and will not look back. Other than the issues with Henry the Pug's hair it is pretty easy but your need to prep and have a clean area. So here are some of the alcohol ink paintings First Alcohol ink painting named FUCancer.  Close up detail  Still to be detailed  ready to be mounted on birch panel and then resined
