Cyanotypes experimentations 2022

Here are some of the cyanotypes that I made at different times of the day and different types of items.

In the first ones I used strictly dried flowers and did not expose them to the sun for too long these were done in the month of August when the sun was stronger early in the morning.

These ones were done Oct 3rd 22 when the sun was not as strong at noon for approx 10 minutes. They included dried flowers, leaves from a dried Jacob's ladder plant and bottles of perfum that gave the image an unique abstract from.

I am planning on making them into cards, bookmarks or Thank you tags for my Poshmark orders.

I will experiment with maps, negatives and more see through items in the next coming weeks while the sun is still strong.

The weather is nice again so I am preparing papers at night and storing them in a box to dry so that I can do some more during the day.
It is Oct 4th, 2022 and the temperature is supposed to go to 16 degrees C today.
These prints were done on my balcony at 11:45 and the sun was stronger than yesterday.
I prepare some old paper maps and re-used some of the existing papers that did not come out nice. As well I used the front page from the watercolor paper package.
All turned out very nice. I am really happy with the maps. They did seem a bit flimsy when washing in the sink but held up very well. I placed all the papers on a towel and then blotted the water off with another dry towel. They they were placed in the sun for a bit to dry.

Here I have made some acrylic skins with the dried and pressed flowers to see whether or not they will be good for cyanotype prints.

Here I used pouring medium and you can see from the picture above that the one that was processed on the clear sheet protector came out clear. The one on the silicon matt came out matt.

for the one above it didn't really show any details and was quite light so I soaked it in coffee for 10 mins.

It is Jan 2023 and the sun wasn't that strong.
It's noon and I placed several of the acrylic skins out on a scrap board I use along with a glass negative.
I left them for 15 mins and there was not much of a print
I waited a total of 45 mins and most of the prints were just so so
The glass negative did not even print after some time so I took it and put it standing up in the window towards the sun and nothing came out of that.

Jan 16th 2023 I again attempted so prints from some new acrylic skins I made and left them out in the sun at noon for approx 15-20 mins and I was surprised that I got better prints today.

I added other things to the image below like a few necklaces. I find it interesting the clouded effect I got on the right hand side possibly from the acrylic skin that has not completely dried.

the floweres below were only dried and not in an acrylic skin

I must say I really like how this one turned out. I am deciding whether or not I will make this one an acrylic skin.

End of a collection #Breweriana

For years my hubby and I collected Breweriana items. It started with beer glasses and within a year or two without realizing it, we had over 100 displayed in our A frame window ledge. Then it was coasters from every bar or restaurant we visited. The next level was Beer trays which we eventually sold off. This all started when we were making our own beer even managed to find the old quart size bottles and the cases. As with most collections it grows without even noticing. You know it's out of control when you need to clean over 100 glasses, twice a year. We still pick up glasses, coasters and trays here and there but more for reselling. This is the last bit of the collection that we no longer display and all the coasters have a pin hole as they were mounted in our basement on our barn wood walls. They are in relatively good condition for the next collector to come along and purchase them. Poshmark.ca/closet/bpagani Thank you for checking them out.  update this batch which had lots
