Wood Pepsi crate

 I had this crate for years. I got it from the Bonaventure Ice rinks in Montreal in the 1980's when I worked there. 

It served well to store my books and Art supplies when I first moved out on my studio apartment on Fort Street Downtown.  

I painted it green later on and highlighted the Pepsi logo.

I used it for the kids hats and  gloves ìn our entry way for years and sold it on Craigslist some time ago.

Pictures of Montreal in the 60's

Decarie Boulevard 1961. The  Gibeau Orange Julep , also known as the Big Orange, was built by Hermas Gibeau in 1942. That building looked like  this  in the 1950s. The structure was rebuilt in the mid-1960s when the road was widened. This larger, fiberglass orange is 40 feet in diameter. The Orange Julep drink is similar to that produced by Orange Julius. Both companies developed their foamy orange drinks in the 1920s.
